Katalizator JSC Granted Two New Patents

Katalizator JSC announced the company has been granted two new patents by the Russian Federation Patent.

The new patents include:

Patent Number: 2667920 Catalyst for hydroisomerization of hydrocarbon fractions

Patent Number: 2672882 Reforming of hydrocarbon raw material for obtaining high-octane gasoline fractions and aromatics

New catalyst for hydroisomerization of hydrocarbon fractions is meant for obtaining winter and arctic diesel and low freeze point jet fuels.

“There is a year-on-year increase in the car park using diesel fuel and demand in winter grades which are essential for subarctic and arctic regions takes about 40% in diesel consumption breakdown”, said Oleg Belyavskiy, General Director of Gazpromneft-Omsk Refinery.

Unlike its counterparts, the newly-designed catalyst is easier to be regenerated which results in OPEXreduction and finally in increasing profitability of the fuels production.

The new technology for reforming of hydrocarbon raw material for obtaining high-octane gasoline fractions and aromatics is based on the combination of two catalysts used subsequently for feed processing. The second catalyst comprises a modified silica-alumina additive which both reduces temperature of catalyst regeneration and improves gasoline octane-number. Applying this reforming process of hydrocarbon raw material at the refineries will eventually improve the quality of the final product with reducing costs of production.
