NSTU Students visited JSC SKTB Katalizator

On March 11 and 18, 2021, 3rd and 4th year students of the Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU) from Chemical Engineering and Fundamental Processes of Chemical Productions and Chemical Cybernetics departments visited JSC SKTB Katalizator as part of studying instrumental analytical methods.

The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the work of laboratories, state-of-the-art equipment and corporate operating procedures.
The company employees delivered a presentation and gave an informative tour around the SKTB laboratories, during which the Deputy Director for Science Yevgeny Starokon and the Deputy Head of the Department forphysical, physico-chemical and analytical research methods Natalia Agalakova presented to future specialists new research laboratories furnished withworld-class equipment as part of the project for ImplementingCET (Catalysts, Engineering, Technologies) Technology Initiative, as well as advanced instrumentation pool and analytical capacities of the company.

Laboratory scientists introduced the guests to such instruments as scanning electron microscope, catalyst pilot units (Claus process, dehydrogenation of light hydrocarbons, selective reduction of nitrogen oxides), gas-adsorption and mercury porosimeters, laser particle size analyzer, and atomic emission spectrometer.

During the tour, the students got all the questions answered and a lot of new practical knowledge that will be useful for starting investigators in the future.

According to Nikolay Putintsev, Acting HR Director of JSC SKTB Katalizator, "this tour is an important career guidance event, the purpose of which is to attract prospective employees to the company, as well as to enhance collaboration with universities. Such events are planned to be held on a regular basis".
