Catalyst ICT-31-1 is used as a fixed bed to accelerate the main reaction of methyl mercaptan synthesis:
CH3OH + H2S →CH3SH + H2O
The process temperature range for methyl mercaptan synthesis is 350-420°С. To increase the yield of the target product, a series circuit of several reactors is used.
