Selective oxidation of hydrogen sulfide to sulfur

Process of direct (selective) oxidation of hydrogen sulfide to sulfur is applied for Claus tail gas treatment and provides improved sulfur removal efficiency up to 98%.

H2S + 1/2O2 = 1/nSn + H2O

The process can also be applied for treating acid gases of different origin: low-sulfur natural and associated petroleum gases, biogas, industrial gas emissions. Selective oxidation is a cost-effective process compared to the Claus process in the case of small volume of hydrogen sulfide to be treated.
